Fast and Furious Movies, Ranked from Worst to Best

When it comes to a movie franchise, Fast and Furious always remains in the top 5 of the list! With a combined gross box-office income of over $5 billion, this franchise will give you all the thrills you need to experience and all the action your eyes need to see! These are the 9 action-packed movies in the Fast and Furious franchise: The fast and the Furious (2001), 2 fast 2 furious (2003), The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006), Fast & Furious (2009), Fast Five (2011), Fast & Furious 6 (2013), Furious 7 (2015), The Fate of the Furious (2017) and a spin-off Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw (2019). Although the franchise has become very popular, not all the movies are on par! So here’s our list of the Fast and Furious movies, ranked from worst to best!

1.  2 Fast 2 Furious (2003)

The car chase scenes were the main reason behind the downfall of this film. Without a hint of realism, the chase scenes were never-ending, with a bit of dialogue here and there. Just a rehash of the first film of the franchise, but without its charm, 2 Fast 2 Furious is just like a video game with some great scenery!

2. Fast & Furious (2009)

There are two things that are off in this movie. First, the car chase scenes are not that great. Second, the plot, dialogues, and screenplay were average. Combining all the major characters just didn’t make any sense as they had very little connection with each other! Though Paul Walker and Vin Diesel’s performance was praised, this is not what you would have expected from this movie.

3. The Fate of the Furious (2017)

The only thing good about this movie was the action scenes between Jason and Dwayne and the special effects. However, the movie had a major lacking in character development, story buildup, and silly unclear motives of the villains! Too many unrealistic situations also led this movie to receive bad reviews.

3.Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw (2019)

The box-office collections might tell you otherwise, but not everything was great about this movie. The whole idea behind a genetically modified and program-controlled virus didn’t go well with the audience. The main attraction of this franchise is the theme revolving around family and its importance, which Hobbs & Shaw terribly misses!

4.Fast & Furious 6 (2013)

This movie turned out to be a complete mess with its plot revolving around amnesia, weak villains, and melodrama. What seemed promising was the plot continuation from its prequel but however, the physics-defying action scenes went too far!

5.The Fast and the Furious (2001)

Though there is little criticism involved regarding the ending and storyline of the movie, this turned out to be a well-appreciated movie among the audiences. With a superb performance delivered by Walker and Diesel and some insane action scenes, this movie was the first of its franchise and had made quite a mark!

6.Furious 7 (2015)

A fun plot, some entertaining action scenes, and the franchise’s biggest villain. This is all you could’ve asked for in a Fast and Furious movie! The crazy action scenes are well blended with the emotional aspect of the story. Paul Walker’s untimely death was also well handled by the movie makers.

7. The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006)

An absolute delight for car enthusiasts. A visually amazing movie with some surreal chase scenes for Fast and Furious lovers. It has to be the movie with which the franchise reinvents itself. Though the movie has quality racing in the streets of Tokyo, fans have been left questioning about Han’s association with high schoolers.

8.Fast Five (2011)

Everything is good about this movie! Crazy heists, superb car chases, fantastic plot, perfect cast, and top-notch direction is what makes this movie the best of the franchise! It also marks the beginning of Brain’s outlaw nature, paving the road for Dwayne Johnson’s Hobbs to make an entry.

The car chase scenes, action, heists, and the family theme is what makes the Fast and Furious is a great hit among the audience. With a few movies not keeping up to our expectations, this franchise overall delivers creativity and adrenaline rush that everybody wants! So, what’s your take on the Fast and Furious franchise?
